Pembentukan PPID UNTAD ini pertama kali ditetapkan melalui Keputusan Rektor Universitas Tadulako Nomor 4560\/UN28\/KP\/2019. Selanjutnya, pengangkatan pejabat PPID dilakukan melalui Keputusan Rektor Nomor 1006\/UN28\/KP\/2024 sebagai wujud komitmen universitas dalam meningkatkan mutu layanan informasi publik.
